Overview

Oyoge Koinobori Sagamigawa (Swim, Carp Streamers of the Sagami River) is an event held annually in spring (roughly from late April to early May, around the period of the long holidays that includes Children's Day) along the Sagami River, which flows through Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Its greatest highlight is the sight of numerous carp streamers (koinobori), contributed by local households and others, raised all at once on ropes strung across the river.
